Creative Courseware was founded in 1984 by Connie Swartz. Because of her experience in training and in the primitive technology of the day, our first projects were developing online training materials and software documentation.
Since then we’ve done such a variety of projects that it’s been difficult to describe what we do. Some clients think we develop classroom training materials. Others think of us as performance consultants. Many know us for our online training development. We’ve helped a few of our clients plan and implement their online training programs. (Many of our families think we write software and know everything there is to know about computers.)
In each case, all of our projects:
- Are designed to improve workplace performance and to reduce costs or increase revenue
- Are customized to our client’s organization
- Focus on helping employees do something new or learn how to do something differently

Our mission is to make organizations more successful by making it easier for people to do their jobs. We do this by helping employers/managers hire, train, develop, and manage their employees.
We believe that employees want to do a good job and enjoy their work. Our approach is to help our clients:
- Select and hire the right people and assign them to work that they can be successful doing
- Give the employees the tools, technology, information and authority they need to do the work
- Offer continuing professional development through involvement in professional organizations, training, and performance feedback
- Match accomplishments to rewards and recognition that is meaningful to the employee

We are a Missouri certified Women Business Enterprise (WBE).
Our president, Connie Swartz, has the designation of Certified Performance Technologist (CPT) conferred by the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI).
